Fax From Your Computer

So you want to send a fax but do not have access to a fax machine. Well, there is no need to worry if you have a computer system. To send fax from your computer you will also need a fax modem, fax program and phone connection. Then you are ready to send the fax. Additionally, if your computer has internet connection then you can access various online fax services. Such online services are provided by online communication companies like RingCentral.
Windows Option
All the Windows operating systems, such as XP, Vista and 7 have Fax sending facility. You can find 'Fax and Scan' utility inside the 'Start' menu. If it is not visible then you may have to activate it from the Control Panel. If your computer has inbuilt fax modem, then connect the phone wire to the telephone jack. If internal modem is not installed then external modem is needed. To send fax from your computer you can directly type into the text box area of the fax program, or you can attach a file that can be a text document, a scanned page, an image or a spreadsheet. For the online option, you have to open an account with the online fax service provider. Use the template provided at their website to prepare the text matter. You can also upload your own prepared file. Provide the fax number and press the 'Send' button. The document will be sent instantly to the recipient. You can also send the document first to the website through e-mail. The site will send the received document as fax immediately to the recipient.
As you can see it is so easy to send fax from your computer. When you already have a computer then take advantage of it. There is no need to purchase an expensive fax machine when the same job can be done so easily and economically with the computer itself.
